Years ago, fisherman dropped some cats off on a beach in Sardinia, hoping to fix their rodent problem. They didn’t anticipate what that action would instigate, however, and now there are more than 40 cats roaming that beach today not only keeping the rodent problem down.
These cats are ALSO serving as an adorable sight to everyone who ventures to visit this island!
Andrea Atzuri and his wife opened a cat sanctuary in 2011 and named it I Gatti di su Pallosu, meaning “The Cats of Pallosu”. This spot is a well-known Roman archealogical site. If you’re thinking about planning a trip, I would highly recommend visiting this little island paradise.
